Unfortunately there are a LOT of researchers who simply copy false information that others have put on the internet. One such falsehood is that Elbert Brock, Perry Green Brock, Blassingame Brock, James Brock, and Terry Wayne Brock were the sons of Henry Brock and Mary Queener. There is absolutely NO SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION for this falsehood. There is PROOF that it is NOT TRUE.

Cherokee County, N. C. Census Records and McMinn County, Tn Court and Deed Records for Henry Brock

1. 1840 Cherokee County, N. C. census records show Henry Brock page 240 line 9 and William White page 240 line 15. Henry Brock Sr. is on page 240 line 17. Click here for a transcription of the 1840 Cherokee County census record.

2. I couldn't find a copy of the record whereby Isaac Brock purchased Hiwassee District Land Grant property in McMinn County, Tn. but I did find the deed 10 Oct. 1829 whereby Isaac Brock of the county of Perry County, Alabama sold that land grant property to William White who was the neighbor of Henry Brock in the 1840 Cherokee County, N. C. census record. Click here for a copy of that deed taken from McMinn County, Tn. deed books.

3. Partial copy of Hiwassee District Land Grant Map shows exact location of the property that Isaac Brock sold to William White. Click here for an image of that map shown with gps coordinates.

4. McMinn County Chancery Court Record Elizabeth Brock by next friend Mary J. Brock v. John Jack et al filed 14 Dec 1869 contains sworn deposition by Henry Brock 1871 as witness age 55 that he was a cousin to Elbert Brock. The court ruled in favor of Elizabeth Brock.
Click here for page 1 of that chancery court record.
Click here for page 2 of that chancery court record.

5. Henry Brock never owned property in McMinn County, Tn. and no deed exists for him. Proof that he was a tenant is in this Chancery Court record of Spillman and Glenn vs John Thomason and others. Click here for this court record containing an ejection order against Lawerence and Henry Brock who were tenants of orators.

This indirect connection of Henry Brock to Isaac Brock of Alabama is probably the only documented connection that exists between Henry and Isaac Brock. Whether this was Isaac Brock Sr. or Isaac Brock Jr. isn't clear from these records. After the Cherokee County, N. C. lands were obtained from the Indians many of those who lived in Buncombe County, N. C. moved to Cherokee County, N. C. This fact is consistent with Henry Brock having come from Cherokee County, N. C. where Isaac Brock was documented in the 1834 voting records for Buncombe County, N. C.
********************************************************************************************************

In McMinn County, Tn. there is absolutely NO CONNECTION between Terry Wayne Brock and Blassingame Brock to Henry Brock, either by location or court documents. Terry Wayne Brock and Blassingame Brock were at least ten miles distant from Henry Brock when they first purchased land grant property near the Hiwassee River. And after they moved to Sanford, Tn. the Brocks were about 30 miles distant. Further, there is absolute proof that Perry Green Brock was the son of James Brock who signed a permission slip in Barren County, Ky. giving permission for his son Perry Green Brock to marry. From Barren County, Ky. James Brock went to Hopkins County, Ky. and thence to Missouri. There is proof that James Brock moved from Kentucky to Missouri with details in Howard, Cooper, and Jasper County historical records. In Cooper County, Missouri sons Blassingame Brock and Terry Wayne Brock married McDowell sisters, the daughters of John McDowell. There is also proof that the children of James Brock Jr. remained in Missouri and later William L. Brock, the grandson of Blassingame Brock, went to Missouri to study medicine with his cousin, James W. Brock. On pages 156 and 157 of the book below there are copies of the Barren County, Ky, Sparta, Tennessee, and Jasper County, Missouri articles that prove this relationship. This fact is documented also by a Sparta, White County, Tn. Newspaper which wrote an article about Dr. William L. Brock, grandson of Blassingame Brock.

The moral of the story about the information I've provided herein is PLEASE throw away the garbage that falsely lists James Brock, Blassingame Brock, Perry Green Brock, and Terry Wayne Brock as the children of Henry Brock and Mary Queener because it has been PROVEN to be absolutely false! They were the children of James Brock, the son of Frederick Brock.
